Hi, I’m Emanuela Bonaffini — illustrator and storyteller passionate about sports, art and my city, Montreal.

My work is rooted in emotion, movement, and connection—often drawing from the energy of sport, city life, and identity. Most recently, I collaborated with Montreal organizations such as Mathurin Family Foundation and Maizon Dort to create a powerful illustration celebrating our local talent on the global stage for the NBA Finals.

Through my work, I aim to amplify the visibility of basketball culture, especially in Montreal, using art as a powerful form of creative expression. Both art and sport fuel my imagination—and I bring that energy into every piece I create.

I'm also a skilled character designer and concept artist, having created numerous long-standing original creatures that blend my humour and love for cute stuff.

Each character I create is infused with dynamic energy and a touch of whimsy, ensuring your brand or sports team stands out. I want people to easily connect with my characters and always want my designs to be eye-catching, trying to showcase personality and backstory all at once.

As a concept artist, I specialize in bringing ideas to life with my lightning speed sketching skills. I craft dynamic and engaging visuals for my clients to create toys, mockups and plushes.

Excited to be part of the 3rd edition of the Old Capital International Basketball Tournament!

Some of my basketball-inspired illustrations will be on display near the Rogers court on June 20th (1–8PM) and June 21st (9AM–12PM) in Quebec City.

Art and sport fuel each other—and I’m so proud to contribute my work to this celebration of talent, passion, and community. I was chosen to create an illustration which will be used as a banner for the event for years to come.
